Assessment Structure
Term 1: First half of the academic year
Term 2: Second half of the academic year
Each term will have its own examination, and the weightage of both terms will contribute to the final marks. Term 1 & 2 will be focused on both Objective Type assessments (e.g., Multiple Choice Questions, or MCQs) and Subjective Type questions (e.g., descriptive and analytical questions).
Term 1: 40% weightage
Term 2: 40% weightage
Internal Assessments, Projects, and Practical Exams: 20% weightage
Types of Examinations
The examination pattern has been redesigned to better evaluate the students’
understanding and analytical skills through a mix of objective and subjective
assessments.
Term 1 Examination:
Mode of Examination: Objective Type (MCQs) & Subjective Type (Descriptive/Short
Answer/Long Answer)
Duration: 90 minutes
Subjects: All major subjects, including Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Languages,
and others
Focus: The Term 1 examination will test students on key concepts and knowledge,
assessing their ability to recall, apply, and analyze information.
Term 2 Examination:
Mode of Examination: Objective Type (MCQs) & Subjective Type (Descriptive/Short
Answer/Long Answer)
Duration: 2 to 3 hours
Subjects: Same as Term 1 subjects
Focus: The Term 2 examination will assess students’ deeper understanding, analytical
skills, and their ability to synthesize information.

Participatory Activities and Experiments (for subjects such as Arts, Music, Dance etc.) The internal assessment framework encourages a continuous, comprehensive evaluation of students throughout the academic year. Teachers will monitor students’ progress in both academic and co-curricular activities, and will provide ongoing feedback for improvement.
Changes in Question Paper Pattern
- Objective Questions (MCQs): These will assess students’ understanding of facts, definitions, concepts, and applications.
- Short and Long Answer Questions: These will assess students’ ability to articulate their understanding, apply concepts, and analyze information.
- Case-Based Questions: To evaluate critical thinking, application, and analytical skills, case-based questions will be introduced in the question papers.
- Value-Based Questions: These questions will test students' ethical decision- making and their ability to apply knowledge to real-life situations.
Grading System
- A1 (Outstanding): 91–100%
- A2 (Excellent): 81–90%
- B1 (Very Good): 71–80%
- B2 (Good): 61–70%
- C1 (Fair): 51–60%
- C2 (Average): 41–50%
- D (Need Improvement): 33–40%
- E (Failing): Below 33%
